Dance For Art Inc.

Dance for Art Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization that provides performance opportunities for young dancers and the promotion of community service through dance. Our dancers, ages 3 and up, study and perform all types of dance, from classical ballet to hip hop. We have performed throughout our local communities as well as Carnegie Hall in New York City, Disneyworld in Florida four times, England, Wales, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria.

Throughout the year, we fundraise in order to allow the dancers opportunities to perform in different venues. We start the year off with a big studio fundraiser through Yankee Candle or the popular Entertainment Book. In the fall, a fundraising Breakfast is held at Dave’s Bar and Grill in Warwick, through the generosity of the owner, Dave! All money from our soda machine and snack basket goes to Dance For Art as well.

Dance For Art funds our Nutcracker: For Kids, By Kids, held every other year at Roberts Auditorium at Rhode Island College, as well as our Holiday Performance at Bishop Hendricken in the off year. DFA purchases all costumes, props, and anything needed to put on these amazing shows. These shows provide opportunities for all dancers in our studio to participate in even more ways!

Dance For Art gives scholarships to dancers to further their dance education. In 2008, 2 Dance For Art Scholarships were given to Senior Company Members so they may attend Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston Workshops in the fall!
