Keep practicing your routines. You can use the Studio space 25 minutes before your Company class to rehearse.

Student Showcase Audition

Student Showcase is held at the  CDDS/DFA Banquet
Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, Cranston RI

All dancers, Primary and up, who have been at CDDS for 5 years or more are invited to audition a group student choreographed routine! Here is your chance to get together with your dance friends and show us your creative side. We want to see what inspires YOU in dance! Students should get together in small groups on their own time and explore the choreographic and team work processes. Have fun with it! This is supposed to be a fun time with dance friends :)

Auditions: Saturday, March 2, 2024, 3pm @ Warwick Studio
Auditions are closed to Director and Staff only. Dancers dismissed as they audition.

Submit entries ASAP as they must be approved by management to avoid duplicates and approval of songs.

    Subject:  Student Showcase Submission 2023
    Body of email: Dancer Names, Song Title & Artist, Style of Dance, Attach edited song file as mp3 or mp4 only.
    You will receive an email back to confirm if your song has been approved or if a new song should be chosen.

Audition Requirements:
  • Groups of 3 or more
  • All dancers in the group must be CDDS dancers of 5 years or more, in Primary level and up.
  • Songs must be no longer than 1 minute, 30 seconds.
  • Music must be appropriate for our family event. (Look up the lyrics and figure out the message/meaning of the song.)
  • No student choreographed  solos may be auditioned. (If you had a solo choreographed by staff, you may audition it at this time)
  • Students can only audition one routine
  • Wear costume & hair style to audition as you would for the performance.
  • Routine must be complete, well-rehearsed and performance ready by audition day.
  • We cannot accept all routines due to time constraints and artistry of the showcase.
  • Select Company dancers may perform in both Banquet Student Showcases, TBA.
